Second Preliminary; Imitation Front Cover

For a 'second preliminary task' we were given an NME cover to imitate as closely as possible. We did this in pairs so that we were learning and teaching each other.
From this task I learned new techniques in InDesign such as shadowing, background coloring around the text, paint brushes and basics around text boxes and paint brushes.

The part that we managed to not imitate well, was the image. We focused for so long on the words that we overlooked the image. It was difficult to copy it just right so that the image fit nicely into the screen (getting close enough to the people) as well as matching things like clothing and even what they look like. We also had difficulty finding a guitar.
